Description

The Portafix Universal is a compact steamer, suited for the fixation of all known dyestuffs onto all known textile substrates. Fixation of small samples, from 0.2 m length up to 1.85 m width, and continuous roll to roll fixation is possible. These flexible sizes make the Portafix Universal well suited for the following areas:

sampling and coupons in conventional textile printing

short-run print like digital prints

In the first application, sampling of conventional textile prints, it is important to get a match between the fixation yields of the Portafix Universal and the production steamer. During the development of the Portafix Universal the goal was the design of a handy machine that on a technical level could compete with the best production steamers. Creation of optimal process conditions was our directive.

The high fixation yield and the roll-to-roll mode make the Portafix Universal also very suited for the fixation of digital printed textiles (Inkjet). The capacity is sufficient compared to the production capacity of current Inkjet printers. The high and reproducible fixation yield is important for digital printed textiles since only a small amount of dyestuff is applied to the textile and a mediocre fixation yield results in pale colors.

Comparison tests have shown that the objective, design of a steamer with fixation yields comparable to production steamers, has been reached.
